Multi-Element Analysis using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) is an advanced analytical technique used for the simultaneous qualitative and quantitative determination of multiple elements in a wide variety of sample matrices. The technique offers high sensitivity, excellent precision, and rapid analysis, making it ideal for environmental monitoring, industrial quality control, research, and regulatory compliance. ICP-OES is a high-performance elemental analysis technique in which a liquid sample is introduced into an argon plasma operating at temperatures of approximately 6,000–10,000 K. Under these conditions, atoms and ions become excited and emit characteristic wavelengths of light unique to each element. The emitted light is measured by an optical spectrometer, enabling simultaneous determination of multiple elements with excellent accuracy and precision. ICP-OES is widely used for routine quality control, environmental monitoring, research, industrial process control, agricultural analysis, pharmaceutical testing, food safety, and materials characterization.

Limitations

- Solid samples require acid digestion before analysis. - High dissolved solids may require dilution. - Spectral interferences may occur for certain elements. - Requires high-purity argon gas and calibration standards. - Very low ultra-trace concentrations may require ICP-MS instead of ICP-OES.

Submitting a sample

Sample requirement

- Samples must be in liquid form or converted to solution through appropriate acid digestion. - Liquid samples should be collected in clean polyethylene or Teflon bottles. - Recommended sample volume: **50–100 mL**. - Solid samples should be finely ground and properly digested using suitable digestion methods. - Samples should be free from suspended particles unless total element analysis is requested. - Acidified water samples (typically with nitric acid) are recommended for trace metal analysis.

Turnaround time
